Quitting your job turns out to be a pretty good way to get coworkers to say really nice things about you.  I intentionally only told a couple of people when I gave notice a few weeks ago, since I gave a very long notice and thought I’d try to keep things as normal as possible for as long as possible.  But sometime in the last week or so word has started leaking around, because people keep coming to me to ask if it’s true that I’m leaving, and then to tell me really nice and supportive things about how my work has been and how much I’ll be missed.

It’s entirely possible that they’re all completely full of crap, but I’ve decided to enjoy it nonetheless.

Job-hunting continues apace; there are only two positions I’m really interested in right now, and one so far shows no sign of calling me, but the other is being basically created for me and I get to have a lot of input into it, so while I’m not counting my chickens until details are firmed up, it’s pretty promising.   And I have a few other things lined up to apply for if neither of these first-choice positions works out.  So I’m excited about the spring.  Just have to get through until then without letting myself slack off at work, which is certainly tempting at this point.
